This is the only decent show in the afternoon for those people who cannot get out very much. It is entertaining as well as exercising your mind.It remains to be seen how good the UK version is.

Why, why, why??
I can't believe it! This show must be one of the lowest budget productions on Australian television, yet offers so much for people of all ages - the old to exercise their minds; the young to learn and appreciate our language and mathematics and for those in between - just for the fun of it! A quick and slickly presented half hour that does so much - and you want to axe it, SBS. Incredibly poor decision. Bet you lose lots of viewers bringing in an overseas programme in its stead. Surely you realise that!

SBS - Please Reconsider axing Letters & Numbers
There is so much rubbish on TV now & so little quality Aussie content. Letters & Numbers fills a significant void & must be retained.
Reconsider SBS or there will be trouble!

Letters and Numbers must go on
So here we are in Australia and you want to broadcast the British version of this program. We wont understand 75% of the words that they come up with.

I would urge SBS to reconsider and continue making "LOCAL" television. True reality television ☺

I cannot believe the only decent thing to watch on TV with my children of an evening is going....why???....so we can watch the UK imported version....that is not the right thing to do SBS...the production costs must be very low and you are not prepared to support an Australian show employing Australian people. I am so cross about this.

Please don't axe the only worthwhile program on TV which gives something to the whole family. Education, Fun and entertainment. And Nooooo we don't want the Pommie version our own Australian version was brilliant enough. Come on SBS Execs!!! A wrong decision can be overturned. This program has the affection of your viewers and that is something YOU CAN'T BUY !!!

Keep SOME sanity!
I have to echo the words of others: the show is 30 minutes of TV that actually exercises your brain instead of dulling it. My kids and I compete to see which anagrams we can get the fastest, and my daughter is now loving maths. I can think of plenty of other SBS shows that deserve axing first!

Lets keep the Australian show. I like UK TV but it's great to have the local stuff. This must be relatively low cost production. What costs more - this show or license fees for the UK version?

SBS,what are you thinking? Axing Letters and Numbers? This is the most entertaining show on TV and I look forward each week night to sitting down at 6 pm to compete against contestants and try to match wits with David and Lily. I am 64 and the brain exercise that this show gives me must surely be good for my health. Please reconsider. If you don't, I hope another TV station picks up the intelligent Lily, David and Richard and resurrects it. Their ratings will soar, as yours will fall with the demise of this wonderful show.
