Letters and Numbers
Our daughter, knowing how much we enjoy Letters and Numbers told us that the show was to be axed. That would be disastrous! The vast majority of programs on TV are absolute rubbish. Only L and N with an occasional documentary are able to stimulate the brain-box.Society generally would be far better served to have more TV presented as interesting "educational" tools instead of the mind-numbing violence and pathetic sit-com junk which fills the screen.
Letters and Numbers is unique in that it is a thought provoking opportunity to use our brains to solve its content for both contestants and viewers, and as such is far too valued to be terminated.

The power of Letters and Numbers
I've had numerous amounts of people tell me how they have seen younger kids, particularly girls, inspired by Lily to regard mathematics as "cool" and as "fun." I think this is something that's very much needed. I'm very disappointed that SBS is axing a show that I think has significant positive social implications.

Bring Back LAN!
I am dismayed to hear that one of my favourite shows on
TV is being "rested"! As anyone who has any knowledge of the Australian television landscape would understand, rested is industry-speak for cancelled. In a society which is crying out for more involvement from young people in basic literacy and numeracy skills, it is an utter bewilderment that SBS has made this decision. Please respect the fans of this show and reinstate what has been, for me and many others, a highly intellectual and thoroughly enjoyable experience each weeknight at 6pm

Typical isn't it. Get a really good show that stimulates the brain and it gets the axe.
Bring back Richard, David and Lily so we can again enjoy the show and the magic chemistry of the front people.

Good television
'Letters and Numbers' is a great show. Why replace it with 'Countdown' when we could have our own local version. This is one of the few shows that does not dumb us down. Richard, David and Lily are very entertaining.

Letters & Numbers axing
I watch Letters & Numbers religiously. In the breaks I see other SBS shows advertised which I then watch. I love the L & N team. My maths has improved so much thanks to Lily. I've always loved words & David has taught me so much about word derivations & meanings. Richard is a very pleasant and amiable host.
The contestants have impressive knowledge & interesting occupations. Please do not cancel this show. We all love it. SBS will lose many viewers if this goes ahead!! Thank you.

Terrible decision
The people who watch Letters And Numbers are not merely viewers - they are fanatics and SBS has few offerings that generate such a passionate following. While the show adheres to the same format as Countdown in the UK, its unique personalities make it a far superior product. To replace it with Countdown would be an insult to the audience and a failure for SBS scheduling. I won't be watching Countdown. Seen it, over it.

End of letters and numbers.
Australia needs MORE quiz shows you can learn from, not be greedy and win money from.

Lily has switched my brain onto Maths again. Albeit simple arithmetic but better than using calculators anyway.

So be wise and help Australia smart up not dumb down.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!!!!!!

Retain Letters and Numbers
Why in heavens name is SBS canning this show? Its one of the few decent Aussie shows on what is fast becoming the wasteland of the once great SBS. I really enjoy this show and the chemistry between the presenters is fantastic. If the SBS management needs to save money I'm sure we might manage without watching Bear Grylles eat yet another scorpion or the financing of yet another cooking show.Great show for all ages. Keep it. It's unique and theres not a lot on TV you can say that about!
