Help save Letters and Numbers

Its the best quiz show around. It makes me think and makes me laugh. Come on give them another go

We love Letters and Numbers and never missed and episode. Please, please bring it back. We will miss all on the show but particularly Lily whose amazing mathematical brain left us astounded night after night. Please bring it back! Bad decision SBS - please reconsider.

Dear SBS,

Where is the logic in canning Letters & Numbers?! Do you realise you have trashed perhaps the ONLY show on Australia Television which genuinely brings families together at the all important 6pm timeslot? Our 8 year old is a HUGE fan and has purchased most of the books from Dymocks. Our 5 year old also loves to get involved. And that's not to mention their parents! And to add insult to injury the network has replaced it in the interim with its UK "equivalent" Countdown, exposing our youth to the perils of cultural cringe apparently alive and well at SBS, paradoxically. I wish Lily all the best in her Destination Flavour endeavours but ANOTHER cooking show is no substitute for what was one of the most unique and refreshing shows on television. If nothing else, a superb antidote to the 6pm drivel on offer elsewhere on the box.

I implore you to reconsider this error in judgement. Please reconsider, now!

This show is almost always the best part of the weekday - nothing beats playing along to Letters and Numbers at home, and the fact that it is being replaced with the British version is an absolute travesty. I thought SBS was committed to local programming? Richard, Lily and David are awesome, I'm not sure if I can get used to different hosts. We need more shows like this on television, not less!

SBS, please don't let this one go! It's a pearl.

It stretches the grey matter for all ages.

First up L&N is a copy of a French show "Des chiffres et des lettres", not the UK version called "Countdown". The show has been on French TV since the 1970s (maybe 1960s). It would be nice to know why SBS has pulled the pin - costs? the hosts wanting to move on? ABC studios unavailable?

I agree with everyone who wants a homegrown version using the Maq' with Australian idioms and grammar.

Plus of course Lily is just great eye candy for every numbers nerd in the country!!!

We are devastated that L & N has ceased production. Our 4 year old granddaughter always watches this program avidly and it's
teaching her so much. It is our favourite show - bring it back soon!

I love the Australian "Letters and Numbers". It is the only time our whole family gathers around to try to outdo not only each other but the contestants with wordplay and Math.

I really find Richard, David and Lilly inspiring as Australian talent.

I think LAN is the only Australian "nerdy" show on , and I can't understand why they want to put Lily on a cooking show !!!! Don't we have enough cooking shows already!!!!!

Please keep LAN sbs for our brains sake
