Letters & Numbers
How about "resting" the OUT OF TOUCH boffins who decided to end Letters & Numbers? Surely SBS, you can't afford to delete the one consistently well supported show you have, or to offend a large section of your regular viewing audience? Back to the drawing board, revisit those stats - you've made a BIG mistake.Annette G.

Noooooooooo
SBS - what are you thinking? This is the best show you have to offer. I make it my mission to be home by 6.00pm to watch the show. How could you rob me of Letters & Numbers?! Please, please, please bring it back :(

Letters & Numbers
If Letters & Numbers is brought back, it'll be brilliant. If it isn't, might have to see how watching Countdown compares with watching Letters & Numbers. No one can be better than Lily. UK television would be probably not as good because Aussie talent rules - am always great at everything & getting used to a UK similarity would take a while to get used to, especially if I haven't watched it before. Letters & Numbers was the greatest & still is. Hope there's enough to bring it back, it deserves it.

It's Pathetic
What? Scrap letters and numbers without the decency of an announcement? What a gutless decision. Were they afraid of what might happen if people found out too soon.? At the last episode before the Finals series, it was said publicly that they would be back after the Finals. Now we know that there was no such intention.
Fancy compounding a terrible decision with deceit.
And after I had just lobbied Minister Conroy to give SBS $150 million extra.
Thanks SBS very much. It in good to see gratitude expressed so forcefully.
This decision ranks with the one to get rid of the the Movie Show with David and Margaret. What a mistake that turned out to be.
Countdown is a poor substitute for L&N. Ever since the death of its first most successful Chairman, Richard Whiteley no-one has really been interested in it. No it won't do, SBS. For one thing it is not Australian. As Richard Whiteley himself would have said, "It's pathetic."
And the last thing we need is another a mindless cooking show.

Dear Programme Planner, here is your report: Must try harder.

Please don't kill off L & N
This is my favourite show. I like to exercise my brain and I don't want to see this show die. It is the only really intelligent show on TV, not all of us want to see celebrities on reality shows or talent contests. Programming today doesn't seem to be aimed at people with intelligence, but this was the one show that did. It is very sad that SBS would see fit to cancel it. Replacing it with the British version is no substitute. I've watched a few episodes recently and the contestants are really dumb (some of them quite rude) and the hosts are very annoying, so even though you get a longer show, the quality is very poor. BRing back letters and numbers please.

Heckler tomorrow 29th June
The Sydney Morning Herald is running my Heckler tomorrow (Friday 29th June) in support of Letters and Numbers. I felt so annoyed and frustrated at SBS's crazy decision - I had to vent my spleen in the 450 word limit allowed by The Herald.

Just take a small risk SBS
Surely it doesn't cost much to make and seems to grow in popularity each year.

Dismayed
I was dismayed to hear, at the end of the program that there would be no more Letters and Numbers. How you can afford to axe a program as popular as this one and replace it with a UK version which few if any viewers will be interested in is totally beyond me.
Are you sure Gina Rhinehart isn't on the board of SBS?
What's next? Global Village? Perhaps the 6.30 news? You really must be short of funds when a program like Letters and Numbers is suddenly axed. Unless it is re-instated, you've just lost another viewer!

Dad, I dug another poem .... filled in with water
Letter & Number, Number and Letter
There is no pastime remotely better
How dare the SBS scoff
At our beloved Richard Morecroft
Watching the flicking Macquarie of David Astle
Sitting on the couch, I felt snug as a nacelle
Puzzle-solver, dear letter-turner
That’s our cherished Lily Serna
Life is a thrill solving the conundrum
Hearing the axe fall, leaves us all numb
Oh please SBS, consider changing your mind
Seeing Letters & Numbers return would be oh so devine.
