Countdown
After watching a few episodes, I could no longer tolerate the inanitity of the panel. Such a humourless group of presenters.

Letters and numbers
Please SBS return Letters and Numbers to the screens, I would watch it consistentely and loved the show, Mind you Lily was good on the eyes.
I have watched Countdown 4 times and do not watch it anymore, that bloke that "cracks the jokes" is a bore, no fluidity to the show, too stuffy, perhaps if SBS is going to change a show they should let the listeners decide because the management don't know how to do it.
Perhaps the ABC could take over Letters and Numbers at least there will be no ads.
Richard, David and Lily were very professional and as David mentioned " keep your words flexible"

Poor Substitute
With regret and remorse I watched my first episode of Countdown and now appreciate how intelligent, witty, pretty and professional we colonials are compared to the tired production from good ole mother England. Was L7N axed due to some copyright infringement? If not, I cannot understand why such a brilliant production was chopped mid series. Please, pretty please, with sugar on top, bring back one of Australia's most entertaining programs. SBS ratings have plummeted in my household.

El,cheapo TV takeover - is it the strength of the Oz dollar?
Is it not enough that we suffer the POMs in the cricket and during the Olympics, now they swamp LAN. I puke with contempt.

Bring back the Australian Letter and Numbers please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear SBS,

I have been following the UK derived COUNTDOWN game show after the withdrawal of the former Letters and Numbers. I must say after a few weeks of watching I am not satisfied. Relative to the Australian version I find that:

· I dislike the non-Australian content,
· The format is unbalanced, i.e. the ratio to letter and number puzzles,
· The banter of the hosts is far more derivative and uninspired,
· Tim Vines the word puzzle co-host is annoying (and not very funny),
· The number solver Rachel Riley does not often (if ever) provide any alternate math puzzle solutions; she is also far less engaging,
· The theme music is nauseatingly a bad attempt at 60’s retro,
· The set lighting is subduedly dull,
· The house dictionary accepts otherwise hyphenated words as whole words (i.e.“FANCYWORK”) yet rejects other such words like jet-setter WTF???
· I would complain about the rest of the cast but they are so benign I’ve forgotten who they are let alone what it is about them that dissatisfies me.

Axing of Letters and Numbers
As a "senior" citizen, the saying "use it or lose it" is very appropriate. As such, I became an avid fan of L & N, which gave me an opportunity to exercise my "grey matter". Everything stopped in our household at 6 p.m. (didn't watch any commercial news bulletins other than at weekends) and thoroughly enjoyed the inter-action between Richard, Lily, David. The contestants seemed to thoroughly enjoy the experience, even though a dictionary was the "prize". Some of the younger players were brilliant, and it was noticeable how many professional people considered it an honour to have had the opportunity to participate. David's word knowledge was excellent, Lily is brilliant and so personable, and Richard always has been one of my favourite presenters - so polished and professional. What were you thinking, SBS, axing this excellent programme. Bring it back - don't particularly like the UK Countdown but will tolerate it for now, in the hope you will come to your senses and return L & N. The talent in the show is wasted out there in "reality TV land". From a dedicated "Senior citizen" - it has done wonders for me, and for many others no doubt.

Letters & Numbers
So I had two shows on TV that I'd go out of my way to watch. Letters & Numbers, and Q.I. with Stephen Fry. Now there's only one.
